The Chinese people are known as the descendants of dragons “龍的傳人”. In this figurine, the androgynous child has on a dragon “suit”: covering the head to the foot. Only the face of the child is visible – showing its innocence, honesty and bravery. The original figurine is of Kidrobot’s DIY Munny, but the dragon’s infamous beard, whiskers, eyebrows and horns were sculpted on the figurine. The dragon’s ensemble is blood-red in color, symbolizing life, energy and tenacity. Instead of a simple hand, the arm of the figurine has wing-like fiery appendages. Much like the dragon, the Chinese, as the descendants, will take flight and soar to greater heights in everything that they undertake. A base stand was also created; the soil where the Chinese have risen from. The blue orb on the child’s feet is his/her source of power – filled with water.
An accompanying product box was also designed, to symbolize the origin of this water dragon, a home for it (akin to China being the home to the billions of Chinese). Using a traditional Chinese writing of the “dragon,” the symbol has also been inserted on to the box to complete this toy and it’s packaging.

This product is all-encompassing of nature’s elements: earth, water, fire, wood (paper) and metal.  It wishes to bring good fortune, health, peace and love in the years ahead: from a child dressed as a dragon to the rest of the world.
