What I offer:
I am a graphic, visual, UI/UX designer by profession.
My papers certify a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communications Management, and minors in graphic design and English: creative writing. However, 20 years of diligently paying the piper, laying the foundation and honing my design skills have empowered me to feed myself, afforded me a roof over my head and most importantly, allowed me the luxury to enjoy my art.
“Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” – Thomas Edison
Cook and “health-nut” by accident. I learned very quickly to be a half-past-six (shoddy) chef and passable quack. All in a day’s work.
Involuntary maid by force. Cleanliness is next to godliness, only when God is coming around. On the flip side, my design work is clean, meticulous, structured, usable and organized (no supervision or hand-holding needed here).
Dog walker, care-taker and animal rescuer by choice. (For that matter, I rescue plants and people too) No need to twist my arm too much to get aid: proven by my adoption, fostering and pro bono works.
Crafty person by nature. The down-trodden has to be an all-round artisté. I sew, hem, darn and even crochet when the need arises. I also scrapbook, vinyl toy paint/create, build cabinets and tile floors! Someone said DIY?
Pianist by training. I want to say that my parent’s hard-earned money for 10 years didn’t go to waste… . Good news is, my handicapped ears has transcended time, and the love of music has in turn made music my muse when I am working.
Grower by happenstance. 2020 has been a challenging year, to say the least. I have always wanted to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining, and the environment has forced me to brave the mosquitoes, cold, heat and the sun.
Multilingual by environment. I was educated in two languages, spoke three, and because I have a need for drama, manga, anime, and Asian pop music, I have picked up an additional two more. But conversing only to myself makes it hard to improve.
Avid learner by thirst. As Francis Bacon says, “Knowledge is power.” My quest for knowledge is unquenchable. That is why everyday is a new day to learn something I never knew the day before.
