noteworthy:
I was once told that the character 船 represents Noah’s ark.
The character combines 舟 (zhou1: boat) + 八 (ba1: eight) + 口 (kou3: mouth) = eight people in the boat.
In Noah’s ark, eight people were brought into the ark (together with the paired animals).
The Chinese Noah’s ark.
Genesis 7:13
“In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark.”
